Sandy, I pray you don't burst into tears, when you see the amount of steel I needed to remove. As you can see, the one-layer-of-tape bevel extends all the way to the toes of the eagle. Part of the arrows are gone. Nothing I could do to prevent that. Neither grind or spine on this old razor are even, and that shows up in the varying width of the bevel. In an attempt to make it less obvious, I polished that bevel before going to 3 layers of tape and cut a much smaller bevel that hones up pretty straightforward.
Without putting much effort in finalizing the edge, I got a smooth and close shave out of it. I believe the razor shows promise to be an awesome shaver.
