This seller has auctions going on all the time
I have not had any experience buying from him as the razors are a bit out of my price range. But the razors he has look very nice so I am assuming he knows straights
As to customs etc try sending him an email
I have never purchased from this seller but he has some beautiful razors up for sale. If the razor is coming to the U.S. there are no customs fees.
He has a beautiful Puma Gold. The Puma Gold is my number 1 bucket list straight razor.
Oh man! And I JUST promised myself that I'd stop buying blades for a few months and get a bunch restored this month. So much for Holloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years resolutions! Here go my fingers on the keyboard...
I bought a Otto Deutsch off of him, condition was as he said however I had to get it honed. When I tried to use it straight from him there was no way it was shave ready, even my newb honing was better. He was really responsive when I called him up and sounded like he was all right. I am not sure if he was under the impression I was going to hone the razor as I said that I was getting there with my skills.
A very good guy and excellent communicator. I would have no reservations recommending him. I don't think he claims "shave ready" for the most part. He does have some very nice razors. Just look at the pictures!
I've had a fair bit to do with Ron and he's a first class gentleman.
Thats good to know re e bay sellers. We are getting totally ripped off by most retailers of razors in oz. One mob sell a bismarck 6/8 for $174, the other $259. Little wonder so few retailers survive here. Hey thats not the ebony wood model, it's the acrylic scales.
He has a very nice inventory of razors.
Have to resists as December was brutal!
I have him as a "saved seller" so I can drool over his razor porn when nobody is around:o.
The longer I'm around this hobby the more I seem to gravitate to the higher end razors.
They may be more expensive but in his case I think you get what you pay for.
Question for you guys;
Where the heck does he get all these from anyway???
I have bought from him, last year to be exact, and the service and communication were excellent. All his razors seem to be well above average in how well preserved they are. I bought a Heljestrand MK31 and it was in perfect shape, he claimed it was shave ready and it sure was!
I have wondered about where he gets all these fine razors, just as puzzling as the guy from Japan with the huge selection of NOS Filarmonicas of all kinds... Go figure
I just put in a bid fror a new 'Klass' solingen razor. I'll see how it goes, He sure has some quality gear, Most of us can't afford it, (Or our wives say we can't!) I'll give a report should I win the bid.
How many pairs of shoes does she have? (& can you close the closet door because of them?)
How many razors do you have?
Case closed!
I'm afraid common sense doesn't matter (And the bloody shoes cost a lot more than a razor). My troubles happen when the postman arrives with a parcel for me. She opens it for certain, and goes straight for the invoice to see what I spent. Just yesterday a 1k/6k combo stone arrived (Fairly cheap too). Just from feeling the weight of it, she got the shits. Anyway, I think I'll get a post office box, to get her off my back.
Case closed allright. I'll let you know what sentence I get>...lol
A few weeks later and I bought two solingen razors from rspe7027, 'Ron bill'. Advertising is accurate. I shaved with a lovely Othello 11/16 full hollow, after wiping the oil, once again as advertised, it gave a silky shave 1st up. I was trying to find a reason to get the stones out, but this bloke does sell good stuff. Simple. No idea of shipping to the US.
I have bought 8 yes 8 razors from him, and every thing is just as advertised. he paid the shipping since I bought 8. :needcoffee:

As you can see, I have him bookmarked. Man he has some good stuff.
Good on you mate, I'm usually pretty cautious about e bay sales, but this guy as you pointed out is the real deal. I recently bought very cheaply, a 11/16 full hollow, mint condition, snakewood handles solingen steel job that was floorless. Perfect, no stropping, just a rinse and shave, perfect. My only query is 'Where does he get his stock from' It's amazing!
Heh, came here to ask if the 7/16 Pfeilring was an unusual razor. I don't see many less than half inch nor many with that point style. If I were not tapped out I might have bid, it looks nice.
His site is varied and you never know what you might find. Beware though, he does have some dead set vintage quality razors, but they come at a price. Equally so there are some great buys too. Keep your eye on it. cheers
When I was still new to straight razors, I almost bought a Gotta NOS from him, kicking myself now that I didn't. I have bagged myself a puma from another seller since, and was lucky that it was hot to go straight away.
As a downunder member, I feel comfortable with the quality of postage, which led me to Ron's site (RSPE7027). The last 3 razors I have acquired from Ron, and all are shave ready, beautifully prepared, oiled, lovely to shave with quality razors. So no matter where you are he'll get the razor to you. My last one a Modoso 13/16 was the best buy I've had. A marvellous quality of stock. No..I don't know where?
Cheers Bobski
I picked up one from him a while back. The razor was in better shape that I expected from the pics and shipping time from Australia to Northern California was relatively quick. I don't troll the bay an awful lot for razors but have him saved for the times that I do.
I'm waiting right now for another parcel, (Dorko 651 13/16) another terrific blade from Ron spencer on the RSPE7027 e bay site. I like buying from this fellow as they tell you how good a condition your purchase is. Couldn't recommend Ron's razors highly enough. He tells you they are shave ready....they are, beautiful examples of the craft.
Good Lord! Where is he finding these? Daddy wants the peaso and the 1937 puma!
So I got into DE and now to straights because I was tired of spending alot of money....even at Costco for Mach 5 no 6? 8? 9? (How many blades are they up too now?)
Now I'm looking at a 600 dollar CNC to make custom scales!
I'm a RAD, and general AD freak show!
The Dorko 651 13/16 bought from RSPE 7027 (Ron Spencer) is the real deal. Beautifully prepared and sharper than any other razor offered by anyone. You won't need a finisher to re-touch for 3 months, and if a stone is required, it need only be a finisher (10k) AND LEATHER, maybe some crox if you feel so inclined. If your like me and buy razors regularly, sure you may need a few more stones, but if you only have one or two razors then a finisher will be fine. My stones and technique are 1k/6k combo (King - clay based) a 4k naniwa deluxe 210 x 70 x 25 (Top of the line), a naniwa superstone 8k, a naniwa super stone 10k, and I've subsidised the collection with my favourite 10k Ice Bear (King) clay based stroke with an artificial nagura. I find it easier to use and less like concrete compared to the naniwa. The ice bear is really smooth, and you tend by it's feel you don't need to spend and hour getting it right. I saw some dill deliberately 'bread knife' his blade to prove he could re acquire shave readiness. Like jumping out of a plane to prove you will hit the ground. I will never deliberately blunt a razor to help the old ego pumping. You can get an Ice Bear 10K in Australia from carba-tec, pretty dear at $140. When you see and feel this stone it will be going long after the naniwas have quit, they are 10mm thick as are the 8k's Both the 25mm thick naniwa deluxe 4k (Mounted and a durable heavy stone). The ice bear is a step up on quality and looks the goods as well as it functions.
