Thanked: 13223I was more concerned for my strops, that was my first thought, but yes the second thought was IF you honed without tape, which I don't, but it could be an issue for those that do hone without tape... I guess the only way to really know is to do it and see...
The double thumb notches and the corners there also don't look all that comfortable for stropping but again I would have to try it to see..

The thing with "custom" is that most if not all good designs are already made, to make something new you get... well, something new!
You see it everything these days, "new and improved".Hur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.

I was shown a razor with a fairly heavily worked spine. But I was a proper custom ie made from scratch, so the maker was able to put a flat honing / stropping spine edge lower than all the working.
If you imagine a wide smiling razor with a normal spine, then imagine a worked section that is narrower on the back of the spine.
Sorry poor description. But it looked good.
The guy who owns it may help out wth some pics if he reads this.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Then the back work... I can't say it's new and wrong, I've got plenty of old razors with fancy worked backs that's not very nice to my strops... don't know how they thought they would work but they sure looks good!
