I think I made a few mistakes marketing this one. I think someone got a really really good buy.
Sometimes eBay can bring just astonishing numbers, sometimes it's just a cruel master.

Oh buddy sorry you got eaten by the bear. If it's any consolation it was a very nice looking razor. It makes me sad to think what I paid for mine, that isn't in quite that nice of shape. There are some days I look at items on my watch list and wonder was everyone busy today?

I actually saw this one when you first listed it & I knew it was yours & it was a great razor, I also knew it would bid out in the hundreds,,,so I just passed it by,,,,,:shrug:
How come you sell to the US only? Surely a larger audience would fetch a better price?.
As a seller, does this sort of thing occur often?
Oftentimes, a message to the seller from an overseas buyer (who knows the score about international shipping, etc.) can "open the door". I know that it's worked with me (as a seller) -- that's how my Red Imp #133 came to be recently relocated to Melbourne :-)Quote:

Simply put, People are crazy.
One week will see the same blade, in the same condition, sell of swings measuring in the hundreds. Its aggravating yes, but a face stuffing of chocolate and bacon makes even the worst sale feel less painful. :popcorn:
Make that actually chocolate-covered bacon served with vanilla ice cream. I'm thinking I should add some mead to the mix. I wonder where I could find some...
well for health concerns, you need to first glaze that bacon with maple syrup... then the chocolate coating. (maple syrup is 2 servings of veggies, at least by my way of thinking)Quote:

Yeah, that's pretty unfortunate, but it's a risk that you took when listing at low price and no reserve. When I listed nice razors on ebay in the past I almost always put a reserve price. On a few occasions I was simply out of the $10 or so it cost to put the reserve, but beats the alternative of selling a $500 razor for $200.
A reserve tends to put off some buyers, but I don't particularly care for lowballers who want to get significantly more razor their money can buy at my expense.
I've heard an argument for just starting from the reserve, but I don't like this as much because if the razor doesn't sell it is not a bad thing to know how much the market is willing to pay for it, instead of just finding out that the market simply doesn't want to pay your asking price.
