I don't want to start a "Blood Bath / Bidding War" but this looks very distinctive to me.
Has anyone seen a razor like this before ?

The blade? Yes - I have one very similar and it's a great shaver. :)
Not the scales though. Looks like bone to my decidedly non-expert eye ( ) and as for the decoration, there's some home-cookin' going on there, methinks. I usually don't like painted or otherwise decorated scales, but I kind of like that.
BTW anyone thinking of bidding - there are chips there that you'd have to deal with.
It's not a terribly uncommon blade. It's nice, the scales are nice and possibly 'natural' ... But it's far from rare. I've seen at least a dozen go in the last year alone. Unusual though- nah. It's shoulderless hollow ground and late in production. Nice yes, unusual.... Not so much. Bidding war- you never know.
Edit- after closer look the scales look bone
Just checked and I have a W&B with the identical blade in a set of black scales with white wedge. Can't be sure if the scales are original or not but it is a fine shaver.

You may like this one. I've never seen another. 5/8 and covered tang. Needs a little cleanup and the very tip of the material on the tang needs to be reworked but still a nice piece.

It seems that the point has been "modified". (I have never seen such an ugly point besides the "new" scales [that I don't think are original nor old], no matter any material used for such a razor…) Just my opinion…
I tink the angle the photo was taken makes it look a bit odd but I don't think it has been modified. Here is mine for comparison http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...psbe2bcdb7.jpg.

I have 2 of these blades. Both great shavers.
personally, when I looked at the OP's link I realizes I really wanted to see the heel of the blade I did not notice it in the pics and that is enough to make me wary.
enjoy,
jim
Is up to you but I suspect you may have to bread knife the edge on that one.
No. No angle would make a straight point (wich is not; it points outward) look like that and the picture is not taken with any exotic lens. Anyway the blade edge is in a condition that slicing bread would make it just right for that task!
By the way… from the same seller, a beauty: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ANTIQUE-D...94b56f4&_uhb=1 (and he even goes further saying: "“some rust & chips on the blade, the handle looks ok.” HAHAHA
I saw that one too Aaron, and I was laughing at the description as well. Well he's not totally inaccurate! There is a bit of rust and some chips.... :rofl2:
But… What about the handle? Is it not lovely just to think of holding it? (just before it turns into a fine pile of little pieces) hehe
Didn't notice them! I'm not sure what one would do with that razor then. Maybe the wedge is in good shape!
