A Duck and a DE
Recently cleaned up and posted these, I know this is STRAIGHTrazorplace, but what do you guys think of DE's? A box of razors I recently purchased had a couple of DE razors included, so I am going to try one of them.

A lot of people here like DE's as well. In theory, I like them too, but I just can't get a comfortable shave out of them like a straight. Maybe it's just inexperience. The feedback and control from the straight is just unmatched (IMO).

I used a DE before I used a straight and still do when I'm in a hurry or am distracted. With the right DE and blade you can get a shave frighteningly close to a straight. Even with most DE's you still get a great comfortable shave. it just doesn't last as long as a straight.

WRT DEs I'd go along with TBS's comments. The razors you posted links to look like good solid examples of their kind. The DE is one of my favourite Gillette models, TTO tech head super speed, and is fine not overly aggressive shaver. I like the simple industrial strength look and feel of it too. For some reason I don't much care for the later flair tip models.

I used DEs before straights, and I still use them occasionally. I can get close with either, but the straight is more comfortable.
