This guy is selling a bunch of vintage hones one at a time over the last couple of months, so either he picked up an old store inventory or it's plain BS, but assuming it's ligid, does anyone here know the seller? or even better, the hone itself? (it's small and not to expensive so I'm considering a bid on it)

I've seen this one many times and summarily dismissed it. You can do better. Go over to razor and stone and check you out some barber hone reviews. BHs, I'm finding, can be quite refreshing, I've found.

I cant be sure from the pic, but my guts tell me it is a carborundom (or however you spell it) barbers hone. It could be the same stone getting sold, and then returned?

I broke down and bought one of these out of curiosity. I bought a 3-line Swaty from a different seller the same day. This weekend, I lapped both stones with a grit progression of 200 and 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper. The greenish stone is harder and smoother than the Swaty. It was EXTREMELY difficult to raise a slurry and the slurry was thin. I have not attempted to hone with it yet. I DID touch up a razor with the Swaty yesterday (8 laps followed by 50 laps on the strop) and it provided an excellent edge. I hope to soon find another comparable razor edge to touch up on the greenish stone. I'm no hone expert, but I believe it's a carborundum.
