Hi all.
Im selling a genuine Dovo stainless razor, Norton 4/8k stone, Dovo strop and a lapping stone over on eBay.
My Buy It Now price is £179 and the reserve is a little bit less.
Do you think this is too much as I've had little interest after several relistings.
I think you will find price talk in the forum posts here is not allowed

Assuming that I was selling the above items and they're worth well in excess of £200 brand new.
Would it be beyond the realms of possibility that someone might opt to buy these items that are all in very good if not immaculate condition for £179 or a little less?
go to ebay , search for items sold like yours then you will have an idea of what the market will bear you

Sell the items seperately, for whatever you think they are worth, perhaps it is the fact that it is a kit that is the problem.
Ditto that. Selling items together might be a convenience as a seller, but expect that unless you have something factory made as a set and the set is rarer than the parts, you will have to sell at a substantial discount.Quote:

Two years ago, I got three razors for $20 because one of them was broken out at the edge. I can't imagine there's any other reason they were inexpensive. It is worth what the market will bear. All you can do is put it up for sale and see what happens, be patient. As a buyer, I prefer to look for sets or lots because I can usually get an item for far less than if it were being sold as a single. As a seller, I prefer to break things down and sell individually for the same reason, I can usually get more for a single item. What you are doing here tho, is asking for opinions on price and those vary from person to person and we don't like to encourage those types of discussions.
If you want to discuss general values of razors as an abstract exercise that's fine however specific prices for specific pieces is a no no. Anything that would resemble a valuation we stay away from.
If you must sell it as a kit, and it doesn't sell for the price you're asking, your potential buyers have told you it's priced too high. Add value or lower the price and try again.
Some times it is just a matter of letting it ride. Keep it up for as long as it takes. I have watched items go though several cycles before they sell and I have had items go through just as many as well. I just sold a camera that had been on the auction block for three months, just let it be.
You could certainly keep relisting it and if the market conditions change in the future to more favorable it may sell at the price you want. But there is no guarantee - only the most inexperienced buyers wouldn't check the past history and see that it's been for sale for a while. Which tells them immediately that you're asking more than the market value.
I'm in the if you want it to sell in the present market lower the price or add value camp (even by splitting the lot).
