Got this Fat Boy For almost nothing. I tried to explain what a great deal it was to my with, but I got a blank stare. I figured I the guys on SRP might share my enthusiasm. Looks to be in good shape too. It should arrive today.

Congrats. I have been using a Fatboy for those quick morning shaves the last few months. Good razor.
I can only share your enthusiasm for the good deal and thoughts of happy shaves. The link is not working so I am without the pictures and thus without envy.
Poor little fellow needs a bath, but I'm sure it'll clean up. I'll post another pic after it gets the spa treatment.

That one might be a handful to get back together ,, as much rust as I,m seeing , I hope the mechanism of it work,, Good luck ,, I shaved with one for over 40 years till I got into straights , still take it out once in a while Put a feather blade on the 9 settings. Pretty close shave. Tc
Same as Tc, Fat Boy/Feather set @ 9 for a very close shave. Just need a light touch and watch your Ps&Qs.

Hot water soak, scrubbing bubbles, scrub brush with MASS, polisher with rouge, final scrub with dish soap and repaint numbers & stripe. Came out nice!

You may have a new calling as a Fat Boy restorer...
Nice clean up...
Great outcome! Congrats.
So happy to see it come out well ,, you will have a great shaver for years to come. Congrats,, Oh and Joel. Yes I stand in lava drinking a jar of gasoline , with my pet wolverine playfully biting my legs while I shave !!! Lol. Tc
Wow... This Is a great deal
since they are made of brass there should be no rust. some i've cleaned up had rust stains where the blade sits but they cleaned up as it was just rust stains from the blade.
nice deal too, if you look long enough you can still get good deals on these especially in antique stores and flea markets. seems people haven't caught on to the value yet IME.
When I first saw the pics, I thought -- oh,boy, I don't know, maybe that's one that should go out for a rhodium re-plate. But it was a pleasure to see your work turn out so well, they're great shavers. Congrats.
Yep, that's one fine job you did there. I have one and it's a great shaver holding it's own with just about any DE out there new or old.
When ever I see a DE or a Straight that someone has taken the time to fix and clean up, it warms the heart...They are great shavers and you should enjoy it for many years to come
She looks good as new. Great job!
