Thanks - the scales on my two are actually in great shape now. After a week long soak, I used a Q-Tip to then apply a couple of additional coatings of the neatsfoot oil as some areas of the scales continued to dry out, they have really stabilized now and look good.Quote:

I'm going to do a little reading about how to finish up on the stones. My finishing stone is an Escher, but if I then go to crox and .25 diamond, I'm wondering if I lose the "feel" of the stone? Or, should I finish on the Nani 12k, then go crox and diamond, and then do some laps on the Escher...I'd like to think that the stone should be the last thing to touch the blade? Any ideas?

im not sure if that even touch you mention from progressing past the stone would stay once you drop back to the stone or not, perhaps it would have the same effect as my edge refining by stone :shrug: i never tried to drop back to the stone after crox in the past so perhaps some experimenting is in order
I'll do one dropping back to 8k then to 12k then to the Escher, and the other I'll do the same way, but add crox and diamond before hitting the Escher...see what happens - thanks!Quote:
