You have to also remember that when the weather gets nicer ppl tend to divert disposable income if they have it towards other activities.
Zardoz I hope you plan on participating in the forum beyond just this thread.
:OT If they have any 'disposable income'. Sport Authority is closing all of its stores in the USA and filling for bankruptcy. Signs of the times exacerbated by the current administration .
Sports Authority bankruptcy sale could close remaining stores - May. 2, 2016
I'm still annoyed I lost my plan due to that sham ACA, but you are right. They may point to unemployment rates, but gloss over underemployment rates
I'm not sure the "current adminstration" is as much responsible for the bankruptcy as is the ongoing change in retail sales in general. Sears and Kmart are struggling, and RadioShack has crashed, because they never seemed to realize that the 70s are over.
Retail has been thoroughly attacked by Amazon and the like, but there are other factors. Idk what it is like in other states but the commercial real estate market has become truly savage.
You say you sell primarily to Russia.
Unless I'm mistaken the economy is in terrible shape there these days.
I have noticed a lot less asks from Russia to ship there for natural knife hones like washita, arks, cf etc when a year ago I would get 3 or 4 inquiries per listing from that part of the world if I had one up. They must be hurting... I have found the stuff that is high end where you need a wad of cash hasn't been hard to move andown the super entry level hasn't been hard, but the typical stuff just sits. At least for me anyway...
