Very confused on the description.

So he is hoping no one opens the box as to not impact value. Doesn't sound right.

I've seen it happen before but I'm not shure if it's a common occurrence.

He is right though. If you want a mind dbl duck, go buy one. If you are a collector and want a piece that doesn't come up very often. Buy this and yes, don't open it.
Or work out a way to open it, replace the razor and reseal such that you cannot tell it's been done!
I guess he thinks there are box collectors. No box s worth that kind of money, ha reasoning is incorrect, a NOS gold edge is nice to have for your collection, but you won't know if you have a NOS Goldedge now will you. Tc
Schrodinger's Razor?

it's a leap of faith.
Nicest box Ive ever seen, definetly worth the asking price!
I wonder if you can smell the DD scales outgassing from outside of the box?

Figured this is appropriate
Pretty dark dinnermint, but funny!
The seller is pretty clear in his valuation - a new dubl duck like the one supposed to be in the box is worth $200, however a sealed box on its own is worth between $395 and $695 plus shipping, regardless of the content.
Clearly not many people see it the same way because his auction ended without bids. He has relisted it, though, waiting for somebody willing to buy it. I don't think his chances are particularly good.
@gugi
I think for razors being in the pakage is detrimental. What with cell rot or general rust. I get it if it was a rare toy or something. And even then I would want to be able to see the contents.
That is a huge risk on many levels... I think he will be re-listing that for a long time!
This is deja vu all over again. Back when I first got on SRP a guy who said he was a relative of Pearlson (Pearlduck) IIRC had a sealed dubl duck Goldedge on the bay (USA) and IIRC it brought about $600 USD.
Same story, sealed box, you pays your money and takes your chances. I'm betting thebigspendur will remember this occasion, as he is very knowledgeable when it comes to that marque.
I sorta want to try a duck. But I have my rad under control atm
For me - buying a box for this much is crazy. The idea is you are paying an upcharge for a box - not what is inside. And sadly if you pay this you can never look at the razor on the inside without degrading your investment. The beauty is in the razor and not the box for me.
Lif the razor s worth 200$ then that's what it is worth with the box,, come on I've never seen anyone display his box and tell me how nice the razor inside is. So he can keep listing it, it's his razor, but someone is not right. Tc
forgot. Got a sealed ring case from Tiffanys with a 10 carat ring in there, flawless, I,ll sell for 3 million, but don't open the box it,ll ruin the collectors value.
I would max out a 150

I can understand the sellers thinking from a collector standpoint. Growing up collecting comics I would buy 2 of each comic that I wanted to read. One would stay sealed and unread and the other would be read. I would imagine that there aren't many unopened boxes around anymore.
Everybody is into something different. It would take a special type of collector to pay that price. Not me the suspense would drive me nuts.

Ya but your comic books were in clear plastic so you could see what you were buying just like toys in their box, you still know what's in it. This is a pig in a poke. Tc
Yes they are. I would bet there is a good chance that it has it. It would cost to much to find out. Lol.

I betcha its a pile of rust, I would pay maybe $25.00 to $30.00 for it just to open it an see. Just because the box is sealed doesn't mean the razor is in perfect shape.
It's actually a Gold Dollar in a re-sealed box......
Better get the "NanoBarbers" out of the safe and let them go look around in the box.:argue:
