People are getting paid this way, but I am not participating. I have sold things that were pretty close to garbage for good money but a fool and his money are soon parted. (I sold a box of 1940's girly magazines that I took out of the Lake George town dump recycling pile, and I got over 400 bucks on ebay for them.)
Hey, it was 400 bucks well spent

It was funny, the guy at the dump was laughing at me for asking if I could jump in the dumpster. I knew those mags were worth money, so in I went. There was no nudity, but there was some cool WW2 propaganda pics that were very neat. I found a Japanese type 99 Arisaka sniper scope in a trash can once too. Still in its military issue case.

When I was a kid we dumpster dived for expired bakery stuff to feed to the pigs. I guess I was doing it wrong!

This one went for $73 - which is much more appropriate.

Sold! $8500. No matter what you think, like it or not, understand it or not, agree or not that is what it went for at an auction. Well below the anticipated amount but well above what any other razor of that brand would go for. Wild Bill would be amazed.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

Nonsensical but thats the way these things are. As long as the buyer is happy, good for him/her.

Exactly. Often value is like beauty - in the eye of the beholder.
