seller 7 razors for newbies, 6 shave ready

Last week I bought a really nice boker from this guy and picked it up in person. We talked for awhile and I told him about this forum and a need for good shave-ready razors that weren't too expensive. He says he has a LOT of razors so I keep checking his items. This is a really nice guy who seemed willing to help me out because I was new to straights..he gave me a brush and a strop. Tonight I checked under "sellers other items and saw 7 nice razors..6 of them shave ready.
In the description of the first one he had this to say..

"I’m at a stage in my life (late!) where I hate to see fully functional things (or people) become discarded just because they aren’t as pretty as they were when they were new (young). So I’ve decided this week to pull out some razors from my collection that I know to be good shavers, even though they aren’t necessarily flawless and list them on Ebay. Also, a conversation with a friend (hi Michael) made me realize that there are probably many people who want to buy a good shaving razor but don’t necessarily want to pay for the prestige of a Dovo or a Duck, etc. To that end I will post several nice but lesser-pedigreed razors, so please take a look."

For me this is a newbies dream. I want to get my shavers first and worry about collecting later. Here's a link to the razors listed..

oops, sorry. I'm fallout55 on ebay. In my first month of the throes of RAD:gth. It seems I have it so bad that I'm actually grateful when I'm outbid sometimes..I just got carried away while writing this post looking at ebay..

He added 5 more today. RAD is bad..this man is torturing me. MUST have this one(can't afford it though:cry:)

Pretty cheap right now :) the steal of the decade, if it stays as low... but now that you advertised it I doubt it

Dollars to donuts says that one won't be staying low.

If it follows the recent trends I've noticed these past three days, the bids will e relatively low until the last fifteen seconds of the auction. Then the sniper software will cross-bid severely.

Last one went for $80 + shipping afair so I think you're right :)

Already $42 today with 6 days left. I'm thinking it will go for $300. His Henkels just brought $224 this week. In an attempt to control my RAD I got in touch with my inner child:shrug:. I'm afraid my inner child has RAD too, now!!:nj

I am Ranat1 and you have snatched a few things but I bet i have snatched as many or more. As was said. All is fair...

My inner child is just having a tantrum;^) I'm afraid every trick we could imagine wouldn't get any of us that C-Mon for under $300, It might even go for more. Sadly(for us, not him) it looks like the flawed, but shave ready razors Phil posted are going to go for a lot more than I thought. The one with the crack in the scale is already $26 with almost 4 days left.

I have absolutely no idea how you guys are coming up with such expectations?
If that razor is worth as much I may just start selling the ones I have that are worth 3-times that one....
c-mon, it's just a decently clean but used razor.
may be i'm missising out but i don't think I'll ever pay 300 even for a mint one, still in its sealed factory packaging.

Just my guestimation as to what it will sell for. NOT what it's worth. I wouldn't pay near that much for it, but pretty, shave ready razors are selling for way too much right now. Throw in the fact that it's relatively rare and "there will be blood" on ebay..

that's true. however even with the current inflated prices my guess is that it'll stay around 100.

I'm not sure. I just tried to bid $55 on it(it ends on my payday) and the high bidder seems to have a big fat proxy bid on it. I never got a bid in. There's 5 more days. I have seen that bidder around and he has deep pockets.

well, I wouldn't expect 55 for it :)
the history of the current high bidder doesn't suggest to me he'll spend well over 100, but what do I know. Seems he likes only extremely clean razors and the prices he's been paying are lower than on our board. Still we're quite far from the sniping seconds. I'm not watching this auction, but will be curious what happens in the end.

I just plugged the high bidder into "auctionshadow" and he's bidding in 13 auctions right now, 12 for razors. I think you're right about his bidding. He won't go real high. He does seem to have a bid on nearly all the shave ready razors on ebay.

Ho hum.... I tell yah.... People must be bored of losing money in the stock market so I guess they would rather spend their bonuses on sniping our razors .. :(
