What do you think the selling price for this should be?
matt,
Were you to phrase this as a multiple choice question, it would be easier for most of us to answer.
Oh, and how close do we have to get to win? Do leaners count? Er...ah...hmm, wrong game:w
A 133, non-wedge, in what appeared to be very good condition, went for $32 just the other day. A super deal IMO. It might have been in better condition, but maybe not as desirable, not being a wedge like this one.
I would ask for more pictures if I were to bid on it. I've bought from this seller before and I can say that the transaction was easy, except for him not taking paypal.
None of this answers your question I know. I'd say it "should" go for $40-$80 depending on condition. I think the RI's are still a good deal.
Hm, picture isn't great and that looks like a fair amount of hone wear. I'm thinking no more that $50, and personally I wouldn't spend that much on it.
The more desirable ones are the ones made by Case here in the U.S and one in real good condition can go for a fair amount. The Morris ones are Solingen razors and kind of second fiddle. I agree in really good condition I wouldn't pay more than $50 for one of these.
well I put a max bid of 40 dollars on it a couple nights ago. Maybe I will get lucky and NOT win it.
Matt here is one that I restored awhile back this is a #133 but it is a Morris and it has turned into a great shaver....

I wanna say I paid maybe $28 with shipping IIRC...
I have never owned the Case made one, but I have honed 2 so far for other people, and I don't know if I could tell the difference if I were blindfolded.....
In fact I used it this morning :D http://straightrazorpalace.com/262312-post3.html
I don't have a Case 133, but my Morris 133 is a great shaver. It gets very sharp, but feels very soft on the face.
I've only shaved with the Case versions. I've used Red Imps (132 and 133) and Temperites ("wedge" and full hollow). All are rather hard steel. I don't think I felt much of a difference between the Temperite and Imp wedges, but the Temperite full hollow feels stiffer and doesn't have the flaired square point, so I find it a bit easier to shave with.
I'd love to try some of the Morris razors at some point, but it's not really a priority.
