i would be glad you did not win the first one. the second razor looks much nicer.
is it my imagination, or was the blade on the one you didn't win altered? looks like it's missing tomething at the tip.
it's not the first time the second one shows up on ebay over the last few months.... iirc previously it was listed by the owner of the initials and sold for significantly less than the new asking price of the current owner.
if i would've spent that much of money i'd have rather given it to the first one - he had the real story going with it, when it happened, circumstances....
given that it's not sealed and it has had more than 1 owner i wouldn't consider it NOS.

Well, that must had happened before I discovered the world of straight razors ten weeks ago. NOS or not, I am looking forward to adding it to my rotation. :) If you have a pointer to the original owner's story, I would appreciate if you could share it. Thank you.Quote:

I recently worked on a complete restore of a 401 and I will take it to my grave. :D
When properly honed this one is hard to beat. 3 of my best shavers are Henckels. The 401 is just plain awesome and a keeper.
