Other than the scales, not a clue...
That's a razor people who are strictly collectors would be after. To a shaver it means nothing.
Yep, there's no accounting for the collectors. It seems to be all about the scales with them.
+1, those guys that collect the decorated handles are hard core. Same with the guys that collect the older pressed horn scales. There is even a book out by Robert Doyle, the same author who wrote Collecting Staight Razors, here. I bought the book and found that he had great photos of the scales but none of the blades. :gaah: Those scale collectors aren't that concerned with the blades.
(*Begin satirical rant*)
Just who are these guys? Do they know what they are doing? To sate a perverse lust for worthless bits of plastic and bone, THESE PERNICIOUS BASTARDS ARE STRIPPING THE MARKET OF QUALITY STEEL!
If these venal pigs had a shred of human decency, they'd de-pin the scales and put the blades back on ebay.
(*End satirical rant*)
Seriously, do scale collectors outnumber us or are they just richer?
If I were to get that razor the first thing i'd do is remove the scales. They would be binned. The blade does look quite nice from a purely aesthetic point of view. The quality of the steel is something I know nothing about.
Any reason for the double post?
