Those are some beautiful vintage scales.
Wow, if I had one of those and someone offered me over $300 I'd be overjoyed. I never understand those scale collectors.
Scales are nice, but having such a high reserve. I wonder how high the reserve was? Or better yet how high the seller was when he listed it?:D
Wow, I wonder what the reserve was... goodness gracious
It always amazes me how much the collectors will pay for scales! The razor's nice enough, but not that nice!
I sometmies write the seller privately and ask how much the reserve is so I don't my time if I think it is too high. Most of the time I get a response...

Those are wonderfully ornate scales, but to put it in perspective they are no more ornate than jewellery being made in China that sells for a few bucks. A skilled carver can do stuff like that in his sleep.

The relisted auction has a buy-it-now of $450, nobody has taken the seller up on it yet.
I always thought these type of scales are made in a mold, just not too many of them, like the lobster ones.
Oh and since ebay auctions eventually expire I'll put in the picture so that the thread still makes sense in 3 months.
