It's baiting the hook and casting the line and seeing if anyone bites. He also has a C-Mon Blackie listed here for a bargain price of $165. It is a bargain because of the crack in the blade. I think Artifacts has been drinking the Kool Aid.
That seller outbid glen on that one and then immediately listed it for more than double what he paid. We don't hold that seller in high regard that's for sure.
Wow, this guy is nuts
I've seen this guys razors many times, and I'm always baffled at his prices.
Whatever the traffic will bare.
Hook, line and sinker!
According to the seller, ebay is simply his razor collection image gallery
Quote:
I'M FINE WITH KEEPING IT IN MY COLLECTION, AND NOT SELLING IT. I REALLY JUST WANTED TO SHARE IT'S BEAUTY WITH THE EBAY RAZOR COLLECTORS.
Yeah, yeah, right that's why he listed it immediately after he beat me on it, my bid was $174 he won at $175 and listed it at $275, it didn't sell, so now after 2 months he ups the price :gaah:
It is no secret that I have no love lost for this guy.....
Aside from Artifacts usually overpricing his razors another thing I don't like is that he will many times take multiple partial photos of the razor rather then a good shot of both sides.:hmmm:
Hey, I don't have any heartache with someone trying to make a buck. It's part of the free market mentality. However, I have to figure that guy is not a member here or he'd probably be tarred, feathered, and ran out of town.. :D
I've seen this guy do the same thing on a straight I was bidding on a while ago. The guy does his homework and may even use this site for his reference material and takes great pictures.
That said his efforts are part of what is keeping the price of straights high. If some people see a straight listed for $640 they are likely to bid a much higher price for similar razors that may show up in the future. Others may see that pprice and realize that they have $640 sitting in a box somewhere in their house and list it on Ebay hoping for a windfall.
Personally I would never buy from this seller. It's obvious what he is doing and I don't need to double or more the price of this razor just because he took pictures of it. Each to their own. Every time I see one of his blades for sale I cringe and avoid it like the plague. There is nothing he could sell that I can't live w/o and I don't need to pay his inflated prices. Nothing wrong with free trade but I feel his tactics are more towards the sleaze end of the scale.
Looks like a crook. If he thinks a crack is no big deal, I'll sell him my c-mon, it needs cleaning up and will loose most of the gold wash, but has no cracks. I'll let him have it at 190.
Red
Not to mention with the "make an offer" option someone who doesn't know any better may see the $640 tag and offer $320 as a long shot offer. If he accepts he still makes a profit.
C'mon everyone! He included free shipping!
That'll sweeten the pot!!
