As far as when it was made I don't know. I am under the impression that it was before the Sta Sharps and they are old. Yours is the first I've seen with those translucent scales. I've seen a few of the Craftsman by Ern with the worked spine and tortoise scales. Most of the Craftsman razors I've seen have been the Sta Sharp and that is one reason I think the Ern is older but it could be the other way round.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 156ERN made a very crummy razor comparable with the likes of Zeepk. I have two and can't get either to shave properly. Just send yours to me for proper disposal. I'll stick it in the dumpster with my ERNs.
Kidding. ERN is my favorite brand, but people are wising up to them, and I'm not getting very good prices anymore so I'm out. I'm off to find another diamond in the rough. ERN was established in the Wald suburbs of Solingen. So whenever Wald merged with Solingen is about when ERN was producing razors. They are relatively new, older than PUMA though. Not sure when they went out of business, but it was probably right before or at WWII. They also had several lines of razors. They produced the Crown & Sword line as well as a simple ERN line. There is also a Husgen & ERN brand.
They make excellent shavers.

Got this in the mail today and it is dead mint! No rust what-so-ever and it looks like it has never been honed. I'll try to get some pics up this weekend.
