Well, since we are in the disclosing mood, I will add that I was the one who scored the Doble 13 for $87 shipped.
Good for you. I was at work and was going to put in a highter bid and one of my associates came in and distracted me. Doh! :aargh:
Just out of self abusive curiosity, what was the max you put in? I was planning to low ball say 105 thinking I wouldn't have a chance, so if you had higher than that bid I'll feel better. :D
My heart is warmed knowing these fine Filarmonicas are going to loving, appreciative homes - and at sane prices!
Congrats, life is indeed good. :beer1:
I can feel the bubble shrinking... the pressure releasing... the investors crying!
Just shaved with this razor today, wanted to share a picture or two with all of you.
These are by far my favorite Fili scales.
The size is between my Medallon Taurino #13 and a Palmera #14. I forgot to actually take notice, but when I was taping the spine I was amazed by how wide the spine was. It's a hefty piece of steel. stainless? Maybe. Below is what the literature that came in the box had to say.
What I do know is this is the first hollow ground razor I've honed that has passed the HHT silently all along the edge. They fell like leaves, instead of popping. It might just be me learning, I don't know. The shave was comfortable enough for me to brave ATG in new territory.
I believe that was my auction... I was just browsing the site, looking for some info on other razors I have from a private collection (not mine).
Im so happy to know that the someone that received it is getting some use out of it. It looked like a real gem when I found it, tucked away in a shoebox that had been in storage for quite some time.
I have also been putting up some Wonderedges recently. I know nothing of straight razors, and I am not a user myself (though the idea is intriguing!). All of the razors are from a private collection (my father-in-laws). I think I have over roughly 1000 razors I am going through and I am putting up the best pieces I come across on ebay.
Just wanted to say that this site (as well as a couple of others) has taught me a great deal about the razors and what to look for as I comb through the collection.
Again, I hope you are enjoying the razor!!! It seems like it was a steal at the price it went for, but I am more than happy to get what I did for it!!! (If it was indeed my auction, which I believe it was!).
The problem with some auctions is- the seller don't want to post to Europe- Silly people could get a better price:rant:
