Thisisclog, Look at Satinedge with the clear scales and that poor Spike. Cell rot will give the lots of little "freckles" This will almost always be on the blade steel where it is covered by the scales. The portion of the blade (spine area) above the scales will often be clean and shining. These are bad enough that the corrosion has spread above the scales.
The KeenKutter is just rusted and cracked, and the rope handle one has a large area of rust that COULD have been caused by rot, or simply being put away wet. It was also obviously broken and cut down at some point.
