Here is one that I finally snagged up off e-bay ...
I have been half heartedly looking for an Ern Ator since doing a custom one up for Ookla here
I finally got one at a good price... just less than $30 shipped
Attachment 51546
Some thingsI look at when buying, if they are not NOS or close to it...
Look at the spine first, and see what the wear is like, if it is uneven I pass..
More than about 1mm on smaller blades or 2mm on huge 7/8+ blades I pass...
Look at the edge, chips within the bevel OK, bigger then the bevel I pass, cracks of course are a no go...
Frowns, depends on the overall size... badly honed toes and heels are a a no go for me...
Look at the metal, gray is OK, black or red start thinking about it seriously...
See this blade, the toe at the top of the spine is going to be tuff to clean also at the stamp, the black there is going to be deeper...
On the face of the blade itself, every one of the black spots is a pit that is going to need cleaning....
I look at the stamps, see how this one is deep and crisp, that means I have a bit of room to buff.. I never like to take out stamps....
The scales have absolutely no bearing on my decision to buy or not, UNLESS they are where the value is ie: DD Lifetime Reaper, Otto Deutsch, Craftsman etc:
Anyway I thought I would post one that I bought, since I get tons of questions about "Is this a good razor Glen" :) :)
Maybe this will help a bit when shopping e-bay...
