Haha! Good on him for doing that. There are so many people out there who think they can do what they want on eBay with no consequence.
A quick bit of thinking from this guy!
There's no way I would have done that... Even though she deserved it, I still wouldn't feel right at all about it:boohoo:

That is an awesome story! Kudos to that guy.
lol classic.
Yeah, I read that on reddit. Someone made the comment:

Did you hang on to the tickets a little tight when she went to take them? You know, make her tug twice?
I would have had no problem with scamming her to get the $600 she owed, but despite her being completely obnoxious, he should have at least returned the $500 extra that he got from her.
I would have done it and not think twice
NIIIICE!!!!!!
Thats a witty answer to the problem of someone backing out of a deal and as long as its legle im all for it. after all its ebay not a car dealership.
A friend told me about this story a few days ago and then we spent the next 20 mon discussing the morality of his actions (yeah I know lame friends) I think it's a great story and love the ladies reaction. Id like to ask her what the fire department is going to do in a case of eBay fraud though.....
language is a funny thing - you can use either of two words with an opposite meaning, 'got' or 'lost', and not alter the meaning of the phrase :)
IANAL, but it seems that agreeing to a sale over a phone is different from a bidding bid on ebay, ebay claims the later is a binding contract, though I'd like to know how enforceable it is.
She got what was coming to her, and imo the seller didn't do anything wrong. Winning an ebay auction is a binding contract. You can't back out without a solid reasons. Buyers remorse is not one of those.
He only tricked her into keeping her promise. Nothing more.
That is awesome. That is one of the best ebay stories I've ever heard.
It is a great story ,but a story none the less You cannot contact the winning buyer of an E-Bay auction and they wont give you the name,so how could someone call her and offer more money? Great story though and if possible I would do it to someone who was trying to stick it to me in a heartbeat.
It used to be that you could see actual user names in the bidding history, and thus you could contact the winner of an auction directly if you wanted. This is one of the reasons they changed that a year or so ago.
