$161.27 shipped for a SS Puma not bad huh???? Did they miss the Microtome part ????


This auction features a beautiful vintage Puma Inox #16 microtome straight razor. I bought this from the SRP classifieds as shave ready. I haven’t used it so can’t say so personally. Other than some scratches on the back side from honing it is in excellent condition. The scales are crack and chip free and straight. The blade measures just over 13/16 at the widest. The blade has no rust or pitting. It must have been honed with tape, there is no hone wear.

Maybe someone wanted a microtome, or maybe a Puma collector? Who knows, ebay buyers do crazy things.

We all know some of us like to shave with Microtomes... lol.

I just got nailed for a $26 shipping charge for one razor. Some much for paying attention. blah.

Guess I sold that on the classifieds here for about $100 less than it was worth.....

Ebay is insane, you never know. You didnt lose money on the razor at least, right?

There are so many other good sources for razors (SRP Classifieds and whippeddog come immediately to mind), so why go to eBays. To paraphrase Forrest Gump, eBay "is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

Moron question here, but what's special(or not special) about the Microtome that differentiates it from other Pumas?

No, I actually sold it for what I paid for it on B&B classifieds. Figured I'd throw it back up at the price I paid rather than list it on da bay.

It is designed to cut tissue sample for microscopes not shaving, they have a asymmetrical edge like a Kamisori but not quite the same..
