I ran across this magnificent boker today, and rather than drop 60$ on it, I grit my teeth and let it go. How sad though :(

What was the ending price?
That was actually the ending price - $55 + shipping. I know I should've bought it but damn, I can't keep spending all my money on this hobby! It's more expensive than golf
There be another one along in a day or two. I never look at ebay anymore .... unless I'm the seller.
lol I guess you're right. It wasn't right for me anyway, the scales were too nice. I like to buy really crappy razors and make really nice wood scales for them. Problem is, while I'd like to turn around and sell them after a custom restore, each one is so nice, has sentimental value also, and I end up keeping it!
Jimmy's right. Razors are like buses. Ya miss one, just wait for the next one :)
See I'm the opposite. If the scales aren't original I pass. Even if they're run of the mill celluloid. I just prefer original if it is a vintage piece. I've made some exceptions when it was necessary but original is just what I prefer.
It's interesting, everybody's particular tastes when it comes to razors. I can appreciate jimmy's affinity for all original pieces. Personally, I like to see a quality razor wrapped in quality materials, ie ebony, spalted woods, rare woods, horn, ivory...give me a custom ebony razor with an ivory wedge, or vice versa, any day...and make sure that razor is at least 150 years old...
