Maybe they want the scales.
I'm not saying someone is going to, but look how high the etching is on the blade, you could easily take off 1/8-3/16 remove the chips and grind the shoulder down to fit and possibly have a decent razor saved from the garbage, it would just take someone skilled.
At over in inch width, there is certainly enough steel left to grind it to a usable state. Not to mention if you needed some authentic scales in good condition those are not so bad. I wouldn't pay that, but hey, for every ass, there IS a seat!
'Tis but a scratch :p
Or a flesh wound.
I would buy this make it a shaver and sell it, those chips are lower down than some examples of that razor that have been honed. It would look amazing (and looks rather fetching as it is). It is a good buy at that price.
8 bidders, 14 bids, and sold at over 70 dollars!!!
Why do I get the feeling that this thread somehow impacted the outcome of that auction?
And the 'feedback count' on the bidders was in the hundreds. Tho maybe not for purchase of 'shave ready' material....
