Vintage belgian coticule razor hone | eBay

Must BE special! Suppose it hones the razor for you. The seller does not elaborate on why it is 150% special?
Coti's are good, no doubt!
Kind of like playing the lottery. If it cost him anything to list the thing it wasn't much. He is taking a shot that some clueless OCD individual will hit the buy it now.
He does say it's special because of the color. Seems pretty cut and dry to me.
:-)
All of his auctions are a little off.
Nice CF stone if it were a bit wider. Looks to be big around as my thumb. He is proud of that one too based on his asking price.
If its worth it's weight in pure gold..ill consider it!...:rofl2:
From one of is other items..

What you are veiwing is a stone.
Really? Do I need to be told this?
Wow he is quite sure of himself isn't he lol!!
hmmmm a word comes to mind here
it starts with W and ends in r
You work out the other 4 letters :)
It looks to me like a money laundering scheme. Same as the fatboy that sold for $1200.00!
That's a piece of the Colossal Coticule and is actually worth more than he is asking. It's actually living stone and has so many garnets it sheds them like a dog sheds hair. You have to wipe them off each day. The stone actually changes itself to match the razor.
Now that's really special.
mmmmmm ... this is interesting
if this is true, how would a person find such information
The other interesting thing is why on earth would somebody with such a rare item sell it on ebay
Surely it would be better sold in specialized listings with a licensed dealer of such items ..

And the one thing that is special about it is not mentioned: it is a combo stone.
I sent him a message on another auction, when he didn't have so many ridiculous prices up. He listed a recent manufacture norton translucent stone for $179, and I pointed him to a source of as many of them as you want (new from norton) for $79. He said he paid $100 for it at an auction or something, maybe he did. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and he removed it and said he was just going to keep it. It looks like he didn't deserve the benefit of the doubt.
It looks like from all of his following listings that he's just an idiot hoping to find other idiots who have money.
Maybe someone else can message him on a hone or two and let him know that at the very best, he has no concept of what he's selling. I shouldn't message people like that, but from time to time when I'm going through listings in a cynical mood and there's something with a straight-up cross reference to a retailer, I will do it.
By his history, he hasn't snagged anyone yet.
Plus $8.99 for shipping :)

I sent a message to this seller requesting information about the hone in question
His reply leaves me thinking What the ....
My message appear below
Dear zharsage,
That is one expensive hone mate, and I am not being an ass about this.
Please educate me and help my knowledge of such things.
I cannot afford to buy a home like this, however I really want to learn about it.
Can you explain the value of such a hone, and maybe some of its history that makes it so special? Maybe a link to a website with the information if that is possible?
I am a daily straight razor shaver and always look to be more educated in this craft.
Thank you for any assistance and information you can offer.
Best regards
Rick

Dear mrtdk59,

it.
i love having awesome stuff and it's
so pricey.
what i do is try to buy the stuff's
that not match in quaility by the new stuff.
so i can sell some stuff to keep buying.

I tried to give the benefit of the doubt but this answer leaves me baffled
Such is life
I saw he listed a small novaculite stone (something worth $20 max) for over $100 yesterday (it's not a hard black or translucent stone). It's not like I'm looking for his listings, but in my general search of barber stones and hones they come up.
I'd assume he's going to continue to get messages from people other than us as long as his listings continue to make no sense at all.
What are Colossal Coticules is that a real thing.
How do i post pictures on here
i would like to know if the clear grade oil stone
i have that i perty sure was mined in england is a rare stone
for my razors.
Upload your pix to your PC. When you post don't just do 'quick reply' .... go advanced .... When your text box comes up scroll down below it and you will see 'manage attachments'. Follow the prompts. Alternatively you can upload to an internet repository like photobucket and post links.
So i was wondering if
this stone is worth more then that price.
what kind of money is it worth.
to someone who really wants it.
Just in case i ever find one.
