I got my bid in for $14.38
Wish me :gl:
Good luck!
Just up you $15.38!
That's a lot of rust, and I woud disagree with your prediction that after restoration it will be a 'jaw dropper'. After moderate restoration you will have deep pitting, after heavy regrind you will have narrow razor (if you keep the width and just narrow the spine it won't be a razor because you can't put a proper edge on it).
Yep. That active rust is a bummer. Still, if you do not know what to do with it, best to sell as-is. I might advise to put some penetrating oil on the rust and lightly scrape away some. Lightly. That would tell bidders more about it. JMO
I prefer my rust to be red.
I don't think this is correct. I suspect that you have never cleaned up, or had somebody else clean up a razor with this level of rust, or you'd know what the end results look like.
And big plus to everything that sharptonn said - if you don't know what to do, better not try to fix it and sell it as it is, but meanwhile put a good amount of mineral oil (wd40, 3-in-1, etc.) all over the steel.
yes. I put wd40 on it right after I took the pics. have not got into restoring yet. just collecting.
Dang it, Double0
Some new kids just ran off with the bidding, it's up to $56.00 now. :(
I'm out, but I gave it a shot.
I'm out too!
Too shiny for Wullie ;)
What we need is a separate category just for E-Bay sales. :hmmm:
After the blade is cleaned up (the corrosion/rust is removed) it will have pitting left no other way around it , the grind will not allow to get rid of all of it.
If one is after the shaving experience then this blade will work fine IMO, if one is after the looks , well it ain't going to fulfill the promise.
Ya'll are just gonna die when he gets a pile for it! I hope you do, Brother! :gl:
Thanks guys I hope it does good!
Umm..."small reserve", its at $177.50 with reserve not met :hmmm: Oh well, good luck to ya.
