Bt he took it to a local pawn shop to verify it is silver. How can you not trust that?

Looks kind of like cast aluminum. To be pedantic, he said that he took it to a pawn shop to confirm that it was silver. I guess this could mean that he took it there intending to get confirmation, but is not telling the result
