Ah man, i hope someone with the caps buys these and splits them on ebay.
Some amazing beauties there...
Some very nice razors in there for sure. I'm a user and not a collector, so this is beyond me, but I can see some people seriously thinking about this. The person who collected these sure had a thing for snakes, crocodiles and other natural scales. I guess we need Manah to identify all these... :-)
Man I'm glad I don't have the $ cause if I did I might just not be able to restrain myself. Those pearls and the two stag scale Sheffields just bring tears to my eyes.
Moved this from razors forum to the ebay forum.
Just watch me pass it.
Luckily for me I do not care about the bling.
I'll pay the shipping if I can have just 1. The only one I would want out of the bunch. Okay maybe 3 so i'll pitch in another 100 bucks.
Wow. Instant collection. Some interesting scales to be sure. Too bad they don't list the individual razors (no doubt some awesome ones). Too much scratch per razor in my opinion. I think you would be hard pressed to break that set up, sell individually and make any money. Let the free market speak and start that at $0! But, added to watch list to see what happens!

I can lend you a kleenx, I think I got a few left after seeing that.

Are you suggesting that this is an opportunity for a group buy? I don't think I would want to organize that one.
Bob
I can't see the link
I SEE THE PRICE has droppppppppppped dramatically.
I think the guy took down the ad
Mine....aaaaaaaaaalllllllllll mine......
It is Item number: 251207226719 and appears to still be up at the same asking price.
If the seller was to get $300 per pearl, which is not unusual, he would have over $2,400 with those alone. Some of the figural scaled razors are worth a lot. Notably the shotgun scales. I can't recall the last time I saw one go on the bay but those are rare and bring a lot from dedicated scale collectors. Same with the stub tailed pressed horn.
I'd love to see them piece it out but I imagine they will let it run and field offers while they hope a collector with deep pockets goes for it. I don't think anyone will but ...... whadda I know ?
Reminds me of a daydream of mine involving a mason jar of Cialis and a two week vacation with Kimberly Guilfoyle. Nice to think about, but never, ever gonna happen :) but seriously there are some absolute beauties in that lot, absolutely beautiful scales.
I think I just heard Cangooner's eyeballs pop.:dropjaw:
There would have to be a lottery win for me to even think about that, but there's one there that has given me a good idea for a set of scales with celtic knotwork...
Thanks for sharing that link!
MLA: how did you know?! :)
If only I could track down an address so that I might go pillaging.

That collection is very typical for someone who is a pure collector and never uses them.
Well Okay then I will be CEO and of course my salary will be outrageous, the stock will be high to get in and may luck be on your side in the coming year. Shares start at $316.00 U.S. and there are now only 35 left. Any takers ? :deal:
This is not high tech so it should go better than say...... facebook stock ;)
:w
OOooops I think I just bought some pool cues from him.
Some nice stuff there, not my cup of tea,but great examples of art IMO
I contacted the guy and offered him 4500 bucks and he said he was into them for 11 grand...I didn't expect to get them but you never know til you try.

It often does this for straight razors on eBay. Maybe because I'm located in Canada and I guess the seller is located in the U.S. Still, I don't understand, sounds like straight razors are restricted merchandise or what?
Here are a couple of photos I saved from that listing. Just a few of what is there. The pearl scales are pretty but I'd love to have those two with the stag scales. :boohoo: The small insert photo of razor lined up in a Shumate display is the whole shootin' match.

Thx jim,great pics.
I have dealt with this seller in the past,he is a great guy with very deep pockets that gets some very esoteric things,he will not wheel/deal.
Ck out his past and currant auctions.
I recall he has been trying to sell that collection for a very long time now. If my memory serves, his original asking price was 12k
