5th Str8 Shave ... or >>> After 5 Still Alive

I recently received a nifty Puma from my local barber as a gift and decided to give it a go for my 5th shave. I've had excellent luck and result on my first 4 shaves so it was time to push the envelope a bit. I planned a full 3 pass session. :beer2::beer2::beer2:now that the preparation is complete it's time to jump in. 1st pass with the Puma is a little difficult. Lots of tugging. This razor definitely needs a proper honing. I persevere thru the 1st pass but abandon the Puma for a recently purchased shave ready Dovo Master on pass 2 and 3.

Results: No missed spots but one nick on the upper lip from the Puma. Also a bit of razor burn not experienced in previous sessions. Have to believe it was the Puma. All in all still another positive experience. :y

Congrats! Good for you...I'm on about shave 50 and I really enjoy taking my time, it's the journey, not the destination. My last shave was WTG, ATG, and XTG and got a BBS shave, no razor burn and still (X my fingers) haven't had a cut yet!

Aside from the fact that I basically destroyed my razor trying to clean some water / soap stains it's been great.

I figure I'll get into using other razors in another 6 months or so, when I feel I've got a good feel for my DOVO - honing etc....seems a long way off...from what I've read, it's far more of an art than a science and I don't want to destroy any of the other razors I Have. I send them out and get them professionly done, that way I'll get to understand a master honing versus something I might do....
