OK, so I've seen men of note suggest a minimum of 2 razors. I understand the pretty shiny thing... Now I have my own ideas as to why, but I would like SRP input as to why.
So... Why 2 razors, gents?

So you can keep shaving if you send one out to hone. What if you drop 1 and break it? You stop shaving until you get another? You could go back to the new fashion way while you wait to get a new 1 but then you have to turn in your " I belong to SRP " hat and badge.
Only 2?
For me I guess it is the variety. I don't own 2 identical razors. I own several DD's, several Henckels, and many others. Each will shave differently, maybe one day I will get the ultimate shave from one, then sell the rest.
Another aspect is knowing I can buy one from eBay and bring it back to purpose, for not alot of money.
Yup, Uh huh. Keep 'em coming.

Why a chicken.....why not a duck..............

I could shave with my Robert Williams forever, or just my Wade and Butcher, or.....
@Lynn,
Rush loves ya, baby!
Having a few allows you to keep shaving and to have pro honed razors in reserve for reference while learning to hone and sending out razors for honing. I have 17 SRs, I think? They are mostly Friodurs and Torreys, all vintage. If I do not slow down, I will be at risk of RAD.
I don't know if it was accurate, but I read an article that said the late movie actor, Steve McQueen, left 100 rocking chairs and 10,000 pocket knives in his estate. I guess he liked those things quite a bit. I don't have his resources but if I did I'd have a whole lot more razors than what I do. :)
