Default those days when it just doesn't work

Anybody else ever have the occasional day where you just can't seem to get a decent shave? I had one of those this morning. Did my usual pre-shave prep and started in with my Gillette SS, and I just couldn't seem to get my whiskers cut to anything like what I'd normally consider an acceptable length. I tried several passes in different directions and I even stopped to change my blade from a Super Iridium to a new Feather (which shouldn't have been necessary -- the Iridium was almost new), and the best I could do was a mediocre shave with quite a bit of irritation. WTF? How does that happen?

I've had a couple of days like that though they are rare - mostly back when I used mach 3s. I think it had more to do with me than the razor though: there were times when my skin was sensitive or traumatised, not enough sleep, that kind of thing.

Just remember, it's like they say about haircuts: the difference between a good and a bad shave is about a day.

Leave it be for a while, let your skin recover, try again.

It's true. Everything was fine yesterday.

You are not alone today. It must be that we are just past a very strong full moon. My shave this morning required the use of the last disposable in the house to clear things up. And don't laugh at the full moon reference. At one time I managed convenience stores. It never failed, come the full moon we had more drunks staggering thru the store, more attempts by teenagers to steal beer and generally grumpier customers.

I have a friend in the police and he says that they hate working full moon nights as everyone goes bonkers.

This is when you call-in sick, or take some of that PTO (Paid Time-Off). If the IRS can announce that, due to the recent (all of) 16-day government shutdown, they're going to delay 2013 income-tax return filing until sometime between January 28th to February 4th, then having a "bad-shave day" is reason enough to stay home and regroup.

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

If that were my local council, those dates would actually mean somewhere around may. Are they offering to pay interest and or fines for late processing. The interest on returns for the whole of the country for several weeks would I imagine be a fairly substantial sum.
