"Free" Cremo Shave Cream and products (100 percent mail-in rebate)

Hey all,

I was hoping more people would get to see this and take advantage of the opportunity to get in on this like I did.

I got the shave cream(which is purported to be really slick stuff) and the pre-shave face wash.

I just thought free shave cream product wasn't a bad deal, particularly, for the budget conscious or the new guy(like me) wanting to give a new cream a try ;)

I started the other thread. More discussion there. I've used it plain, and under Palmolive and C.O. Bigelow (at different times).

I just picked this up this past Saturday...I used it Sunday with a DE razor with good results. This stuff likes water. I wet my face then applied the Cremo. It covers like a lotion and not a cream. It does not lather. I shaved and kept reapplying water to keep is slick. It worked well for my light growth that day along with my Gillette Flare tip DE.

BUT I tried it today with my straight razor and all i can say is YUCK! Since you have to keep adding water to it your free hand is always wet and slippery so I can never get a good pull to tighten my skin for the straight razor strokes. And since I am slower with the straight razor, it actually got dry.

I do like if for the DE razor though. Just not the straight.

Fair criticism. Putting it under a traditional lather helps keep it wet. But that's an extra complication.

I have used Cremo in making an uber lather which works just fine and solves a lot of problems in using it by itself. It is very slick and that carries over into the uber lather.

Certainly, very similar to http://straightrazorpalace.com/srpwi...C3%9Cberlather . Uber lathers do vary by which creams and soaps you combine but the method is pretty standard.

Yeah, Matt. I saw that. That's what prompted me to repost it under the Beginners sub forum.

I think it might be helpful to those either wanting to try different stuff or for those who are having a problem making a decent lather. As already stated, on this thread, its "slick" factor lends itself quite nicely to the making of the all coveted Uberlather.

I was planning on using at some point myself today, but the "Out for Delivery" includes an sandlewood soap sample, so I'm a little divided as to which for today.

I bought a tube of the cream about a week after I started using a straight. Personally, I can't stand the smell nor performance. I thought of using it for an uberlather, but the combination of the scents doesn't seem that great to me. Also, for SR shaving, it just didn't work well enough by itself. SWMBO uses it from time to time with a DE blade, though.

I've used it once...two days ago. I intend to use it again today. In my previous post about this product I said that I applied it to my face and then applied a nice thick uber lather on top of it. The shave was excellent, and very 'slick' and smooth' with no irritation!

Now...I have not used any other kind of face prep prior to lathering before this, so comparing it to other offerings on the market is something I cannot do. I will continue to use this product for awhile and if it continues to work well, I'll continue to use it.

Today I intend to use it as a mix with my soap (rather than applied directly to my face ) to see if it will enhance or degrade a scuttle of Uber lather. I'll post my results....

I mix Cremo with soap all the time and it works for me. The rebate is nice.

It's not clear in the first post, but the company is offering a mail-in rebate Rebates - Cremo Cream for the cost. They're trying to give a free tube to everybody who wants to try it, but cut down on the abuse factor.

It's also available at Amazon.com: Cremo Astonishingly Superior Shave Cream, 6 Fluid Ounce: Health & Personal Care as an add-on item, for those who may not have it locally and purchase other stuff on amazon.

Yes, I should have made that clearer. However, the information is in the thread I linked to, but it was my oversight for the immediate thread.
When you buy it from Amazon, the rebate is still available?
Rebates - Cremo Cream states that the purchase must be made in a store.

I often apply it to my face and then face lather on top of it with a cream like C.O. Bigelow. A lot of mixing happens, so I guess that's a lot like an uberlather?

I bought mine at the local CVS. I don't think you can get the rebate if you order it.

Doesn't look like it - the rebate page says in red that online purchases are not eligible. I didn't really read it though, I just saw they had prominently posted their amazon rating on the front page and thought it's probably eligible, but it isn't.
I've had the cream for a year and haven't tried it (too many favorites already), but could've given the face wash or the moisturizer a try if it were available locally. I just finished a couple of my aftershaves but meanwhile the weather has gotten much more conductive to using alt innsbruck (great favorite but during summer it's a bit too much for me).

I just shaved for the second time using Cremo..results were outstanding...and NO, I don't own stock in the company!

For this shave I mixed it ahead of time with the Uber lather ( soapy water-glycerine-Cremo-soap loaded brush) rather than applying it directly to my face. It made a great lather: thick, slick and fluffy. The shave was with a classic 6/8 Jonathan Brooks Hollow Ground...one of my favorite non-wedge blades.

Two passes and a smooth BBS shave...irritation free. I am sold after two shaves with this product, and feel that I will continue to use it each time I shave, subject only to trying other manufacturers product lines.

I give it an enthusiastic "try it" recommendation...

Shaved with the Cremo today. Loved it. not at first. Let me explain after I recap my method.

I followed the SRP uberlather wiki with the Proraso(the green one) being my soap. It lathered up like I have yet to see to date.

The smell. At first smell at opening, I smelled what I would describe as a powdered SunnyD smell. Not too nice. As I began to work the lather, the smell slowly morphed into a softer orangy GoJo smell(smell getting better). By the time I was slathering the stuff all over my face, the smell was a treat. Combined with the eucalyptis and stuff in the Proraso and the orange creame smell, sensory stimulation abounded. Between the skin feel of the Proraso and the combined smells, it was a completely new experience to me.

I enjoyed the feel and smell so much that after I had finished shaving completely, I fully relathered and left the lather there while cleaning, CrOxing and oiling the blade. Kept the lather on while I cleaned the brush, soap dish, scuttle, etc. Finally, I washed it off and I was a little sad to see sooo much lather having to be washed away between the scuttle leftovers and my face.

I tried the facewash today and it did the job, but I have little to compare it to. But for a 100 percent refund, face feels pretty darn clean!

Hope my experience helps. It was just amazing to me how the smells of the Cremo shave cream morphed so distinctly throught the Uberlathering.

ps-I had a BBS today to boot. However, lend NO weight to the BBS being a result of the Cremo, though it may have "helped" a little.
