I found someone locally who said they would cut/round off, polish, and hone the edge for a good price, (I hope). I'll give an update when I get it back. I probably won't be able to drop it off till later this week. Thanks for all the replies words of encouragement.
Hope the someone is a SRP member.
Someone who just has some metal working tools could easily overheat the blade and ruin the tempering.
All the best - look forward to seeing how it turns out

Don't know if he's a member, but I dont think he just has some metal working tools either. He has an actual shop here called RupRazor. His name is Ken Rupkalvis.
