There was three dings on it. Not real deep but you could even see them when you look straight down on the cutting edge. I wouldn't guess how deep but enough you could see. Less than a 1/16 but looked really big.

I appreciate your spirit and refusal to accept that the razor needed someone else to attend to it. Good for you on fixing your razor (for now). Only the shave test will tell tomorrow morning whether or not you need to send it out.
Best of luck, I hope that your efforts pay off for you.

What a shame, I feel for you. I would hate to do this to one of my razors some day. Yet I don't want to switch from rinsing under the tap since I like the extra glide I get from the water.
Ok I shaved this morning. It was plenty sharp for a shave no pull but felt mean? Not a smooth glide but not pull and tug either. I hit the hone about five more passes then re stropped feels better but not perfect. Like I said it is very sharp no pull but still harsh. Should I strop with paste? Or do I just need to keep shaving with it for a while?
At this point, I would give it a go on the paste perhaps 5-7 passes and no more. Then, strop it and find out where you are at on your next shave. Your only other choice is to send it out. But, if it's shaving for you albeit not perfectly as before, I would simply keep putting it to the strop and shaving.

I'll give that a shot in the morning. Thank you all! What a way to learn to sharpen the dang thing.
What paste?
It's green and red on a balsa piece of wood (one in each side). I bought it from whipped dog it was the poor mans kit. I haven't tried it (shaved) but I did about five passes on the green and stropped on leather.
Good luck! ;)
Shaved this morning. Not bad at all. I thought the paste was just a different way to refresh the blade? Why did it take the mean out of the blade? I'm happy though.
