Had another set of orders come in. Ferric Oxide from Kremer pigments, a Glass Barber Hone from Ebay, and 3 Barber Hones picked up from a member here:

Ferric Oxide gets all over the dang place. I mixed it with a little mineral spirit and made it into a paste I could brush into my strop thinking I could make neat little X's. Let's just say that plan failed so hard I'm not gonna show what the strop looks like...but it should get the job done.

    Reverse sides.

Interesting discovery while reading the boxes, the Celtes and the Raven stone both say verbatim the exact same thing. Makes me wonder if they were made by the same manufacturer? That would be pretty sweet.

Big thanks to Aerdvaark for the chance to pick up 3 hones to the right. Can't wait to get raors on them and see what happens!

I 'WAS' going to reply using the quote that the attachments didn't work/however when I went to check on my post I could see the pictures.

However going back to the original the links don't work.

Looks like Marshal fixed it! Thank You! : :

I don't know how I broke the original tags. They looked fine in the post preview.

But yes, I fixed them. By re-uploading all of them. Master of the ninja edits.

Also that .1 Micron FeOx made a pretty smooth edge. I don't know if I'll ever be able to strop on the FeOx doctored linen without getting red dust all over the place, but it wasn't bad.

So been wondering about barber hones long enough. Got this set of NOS Strop Back and lithide hones for cheap enough .
Nothing is fool proof, to a sufficiently talented fool...

I won a local auction. The shipping @ $6.50 was more expensive than my winning bid.
