    LOL - speaking of strops....

Christmas present to myself, once in awhile I'll go pop a visit in to various sites that the owners may be taking a sabbatical from (i.e., Wiborg), in some cases longer than others, so was super surprised to finally get my hands on a Westholme strop. Alastair is based in the UK, was a friend of our good friend Neil Miller, and he made a couple of strops and suddenly decided to drop them on his site a week ago.

I was fortunate enough to grab this gorgeous Kangaroo Hide and Natural Linen strop....got a place ready for it in Phranky's Shave Den and Pleasure Palace....

Closest I found fir spring, but not interchangeable strops, is a nice dbl sided board strop from classicedge.ca, hand made by Ashcroft.

Wow Phrank! Funny you would say. I see some of Neil in Alistair's work. Same fabric?
    That looks a winner! Kudos!

Best thing about them is you can put ANYTHING on them. A 1/4 grommet set is cheap!
The secret is one with the original Lipshaw black side in good nick.
    Oh yeah! Secret weapon!

Believe there's a nice rotating Lipshaw right now on eBay.

I have a Lipshaw strop, but not the one that rotates, if you could build the rotate part (which I know you could do), I'll send you the strop.

Here's a pic of the one I have...might need some new leather, or different attachments, and I think there might be a handsome Texan on the forum that probably has the design drawings and technical specs for all the models....ever....who could help out with the doing

Those are nailed-down to the wood, Phrank. Older examples.

Yeppers the Lipshaw is one amazing strop for sure.
To me there's no other way anymore to get an edge smoothed out after honing. It does make progressive stropping much easier.

Phrank.........dang man that is one great strop!!!!

Mike, you do have some amazing skillz brother. That should make your watch repair go quite well. Just astonished. You never cease to amaze
