Wonder if the maker got teased about his last name in the schools of Dublin growing up?
Anyway, no idea about the maker, or dates, but had to have it.

That is an interesting score Mike. The post notification says I have stuff to report tomorrow. I went on a wee shopping spree just before Christmas.

It’s a good thing I said I was not buying anymore soap.
Apparently I am not buying any less either.
I hope they shave as good as they smell.

My secret Santa (that'd be me) picked up a late Christmas gift for me that I've been chasing for quite a while...a 19/16 GB Anchor that is in great condition.

The scales and pins don't look original from the pic; if they're not, I may have the scales re-done in bone. It was a nice find after a good Christmas/New Year vacation and is a nice start to my 2018.

Looks to me that the seller took the razor apart and cleaned the blade and scales up a bit. From the pic you posted I see no reason to replace the scales. If those are original, keep them it will add to the charm of the vintage piece.

You can always re-pin the scales with period correct washers or there are some that are really close to NOS.

That is a mystical razor, every time I shave with mine, it's just a different experience, such smooth steel, almost akin to an very old Greaves...I swear that shaving with the GB is like summoning something from Davey Jones locker...always an epic shave with one of these rarities....looks like you got a real beauty - congrats!

Thanks, Roy--am tracking the same as you on your observations. I'd like to keep the razor as close to original as possible. Definitely will post better photos once it arrives.
