I normally just give a light sanding..
Thanks for the tip.
I did start with peroxide then moved to a water beach solution and the to a stronger mix of bleach.
The scales turned true white.. They had issued to start with so no great loss.

This one was about to expire at $2.25 and I couldn't see anything glaringly wrong with it so I took a chance. I figured I wouldn't be out much if there was something really wrong with it.

I generally don't buy on impulse but looking it over I don't really see much wrong with it except the broken scale. I haven't been able to find out anything really about the laminated steel model. Only some other models they made.
It's an interesting history. Apparently the Clauberg/Klauberg family have been cutlers since the 1300s but it appears that this branch based in New York were not actually Cutler's but importers likely importing razors from Clauberg Solingen although that's only a guess. Strazors, who said they were importers says their trademarks were "The Micado", "Halberd", "Imperator", "Tonsorial Gem", "Razor Man".
I did find one article on the laminated steel one but I haven't read it all yet. We'll see what happens

????????????
wow!
Someone thought drilling a hole it the tip of the tail was a good idea? Maybe it fits the scales better. LOL.
I got a couple of new strops (Illinois) from Costa Rica today. Thanks, Gabe. They made the trip safe and sound. Now to dress them up so they match my collection... This makes 14. Maybe just a few more. :rofl2: :aargh:

I was also fortunate enough to receive 2 strops from Gabe today....plus 2 Jnats and a koma. I could only keep HAD at bay for so long:
