No I think I would pass on that. The rust bugs me and the nick at the base does too. Even for a razor you want to practice on you'll eventually want to shave with it, even if thats just a test shave. The razor would function for honing well but for health reasons I'd steer away from this one. But thats just me, I have an aversion to rust, atleast that much of it.

Rust is easy enough to take care of, but that chip means a lot of work. That might be why you could get it for a song though. It looks like the scales might be actual ivory.

I agree with the above comments. That's going to be a fairly advanced restoration job. It's better to go for something without so many nicks on the edge.

I've seen a few Joseph Rodgers razors in great condition going on e-bay for around £25 this week ( all in the U.K)

might be worth you bidding on something like that.
