Choosing a Username on SRP

On another forum I chose "cool_user_name" because so many people have cool user names and I can never think of one. ............. :shrug: BTW, full disclosure, JimmyHAD does not signify 'hone acquisition disorder.' Jimmy H is my first name and the first initial of my surname. The AD is for a plethora of acquisition disorders. ......... :banghead:

Contrary to what some people of interpreted, I am not a woman and nor is my name Christel.

The name was chosen because it was the name of my first razor and I joined this site in the hope that somebody would be able to assist in providing any information about it. Sadly nobody was able to provide any extra information but I stuck around and I'm still here. :)

I have been spazola for ever, in lots of places. What irks me is when I go to sign up on some other site and spazola is taken.

I always use the same nic. Back in the day I had to choose my first nic. Jerr was taken so I went jerrbear. (the girls called me that) NO GOOD already taken....... 9 tries at a bear name,,,2bears,3bears,,etc. and I thought I am not going to be 10bears. I may be great but not that great. I started thinking doggy style and got 10Pups :<0) Used it all over, ever since. My real name is Xz15907_10

SRP is, by and large, a public forum and as such data can be mined from it - some of that mining can be used for nefarious purposes. Always be aware of the kinds of information you might be giving when you post - over time a picture can be built up about you and you may well be rather surprised at the sorts of detail it contains.

Not trying to be overly alarmist here, just a little food for thought.

Seriously though, if you have a camera that embeds the location information into your pictures you might want to think about disabling that feature or stripping that information out. (if it is possible)

I got that software. Picks all the info out of your pictures you leave online including your gps coordinates if you use your cell phone.

Ever since starting on any online forums decades ago I was Prohibited Substance now I just use Substance or I add my old race number for Substance71

Wish this advice was posted last October! I guess I didn't realize the name I choose was going to be my screen name and not just a sign-in name! My favorite screen name so far on this forum.....Pinklather!
