Here is some pictures of my strop and my shaving setup minus my blade.
Any suggestions on if this strop needs any work before I use it.
I have treated the strop multiple times with FROM strop dressing.

Looks to me like your strop is all ready to go!
Off you go! Looks just fine.
'Gorgeous mounting ring, but the height for comfortable stropping would be undoable for me. Somewhere between waist & navel level should be alot more comfortable.
The pic doesn't (maybe can't) convey the feel of the leather. Possibly PM HidestoArt. He's been at it longer than most pros.
'Looks like a nice strop, BTW.
Appears as though you are ready to rock n roll. Enjoy the experience.
Your strop looks great. But for me I would raise the anchor point. Good luck and have fun.
Lynn's strops hang in a similar manner below the countertop and he seems to get by OK.
Personally though I would prefer it a little higher and would put the lion's head in contact with the underside of the counter. However, that would mess with the great aesthetics you have in its current location.
Another thought...You should move it over to the right side of the cabinet door. Otherwise you are likely to get it wet too often in its current location just in front of the sink.
Thanks for the compliment on the lion ring. I thought it was pretty cool when I picked it up. I agree that if it was mounted higher it would be easier to use. I just couldn't give up the nice look of where the lion head is mounted. Strop care is new to me. I have heard of people using mineral oil and stuff to condition them. I was hoping that I conditioned the leather well enough. I have never felt a strop that is considered to be in excellent condition for use.
