One year on SRP
Today is the 365th day of my membership at SRP and the finish of a year of constant SR shaving.
Although I got my first SR 30 or so years ago, I had given up on it long ago after (probably) rolling the edge stropping like a fool.
This time last year I bought a 5/8 R. Aust from SRD and gave SR shaving a second try. I'm hooked. Since then I have acquired 3 more -- a 6/8 Stainless Steel R. Aust and a Dovo Prima Klang from SRD and a Boker 6/8 Silver Steel from Vintage Blades LLC. I also had my original 1980s Hoffitz 5/8 honed by Lynn. I have also gotten numerous soaps, creams, brushes, a scuttle, a few mugs and a few strops along the way, as well as some pastes, sprays and a touch-up hone (and lapping plate). Just for good measure I have gotten 4 DE razors for back-up, with a blade supply that should last me until the nursing home.
The results, you ask? I have a bunch of new "friends" and mentors here on SRP. I have had THE most enjoyable shaves of my life and the closest shaves. My wife of 35 years has nuzzled me and said, "my what a smooth face and nice scent." I have not bled (much), I have not looked back!
This week my milestone was 7 SR shaves in 7 days...every one at least a fun DFS.
What more can a man ask?!?

Congratulations Harold,
I've enjoyed your contributions to the forum. I hope you enjoy many more years of straight shaving.
Keep your lather wet and your straight dry,
