I started to hone 2 razors, frist one from France, Etoile, and another one is Solingen Garantie, the first one from France just about 1/2 hour and it shaves very nice, but the another one from Solingen, after 2 hours honing still have problem with that, i am not satisfied, i tried my way, pyramid, it shave arm hair but not good like the France one, i thought it must be quality issue but Solingen Garantie is not a bad razor, i just dont know why, some advice please......
Pictures? It could be a multitude of things.
Matt is right, many variables. Process of elimination maybe. Do you have a way to magnify the edge and get a look-see? Are you using the same stropping medium and procedure for both razors? Without a doubt every razor is different, kinda like raising kids, what works for one may not work for the other. Need more info.
If just starting to hone getting one done in a half hour is well done. There are so many issues and nuances of honing way more info is needed to be of much help to you. The most common cause is the bevel though
The Solingen probably needs its bevel set.
You might want to run magic marker test on it as well and see if the blade is warped.
