I'm 4 months in and still make the occassional mistake resulting in blood. This morning, a moment of inattention and voila, a nice shiny crescent just off the edge of my mouth. It wasn't too bad though. I thought I got myself good but the bleeding stopped within a couple minutes.
How about you? Are there areas of your face that tend to give you "reminders" of your incorrect technique?
Yup still happens more often than not..a lot of cuts on my off side cheek from improper angles. Seems at this short stage I have more with blood than without. But its still fun and I am getting better and the cuts smaller. Can't blame the blades because they are sharp and I am probably trying to rush to much. I will get it down eventually ! And so will you with time.
Well I'm pretty good at not slicing my face up with the exception of my Adam's apple. However the most annoying maddening mistake I make is during stropping. At the beginning of my return stroke I seem to always adjust my angle just a bit which makes a tiny little cut in the strop. I feel that after I'm finished stropping I should use the strop to beat don't sense into myself
I got a couple of old scar bumps that I'm managing to get flattened out :)

Just recently I found myself getting these straight horizontal red lines that scarred up w/o blood. I think that I was beginning to _rest_ the blade at the start of each stroke. Bad news. I've known for a long time that the blade needs to be moving when in contact with the face! Fortunately the scars faded in a couple of weeks.
No cuts for me in quite awhile, ever since I put away, sealed in a tomb, covered with Hex symbols, my Cursed Double Duck Goldedge...it's causes the Earth to rumble occasionally, but it won't cut me again!!!
I catch a mole near my lip once a week. Those suckers bleed. Styptic can barely contain it

The styptic pencil is my friend. As I said earlier, the problem area for me is around the edges of my mouth. My coping strategies have been the usual facial contortions including but not limited to the following which I've named according to the way they make me look:Quote:

So true. Sad part is that I can do very well with them for weeks and once I do nick one it takes at elast a few days (or longer) for it to heal well enough that I can shave over/around it and not have it catch the healing area. Sometimes I just take a few days off and let me face have a nice vacation before going back to the daily routine.Quote:

I got a bad nick on my chin the other day due to inattention. It took a bit to heal so I spent some time with my DE to make sure I didn't reopen it. I think the worst was near the start of my career when I hit my earlobe on a spike. The nastiest blade I have is an extra hollow ground spike that drinks blood like Dracula.... actually now that I think about it; that Genco drinks my blood, sleeps in a coffin, and never sees sunlight.
