Half hollow, full hollow and extra hollow ground

Greetings all. I have more questions...

1)... How does one visually know the difference between half hollow ground razors, full hollow and extra hollow grinds?

2)... What are the shaving characteristics/differences between these grinds?

3)... Are they all honed and stropped in the same manner?

4)... How do astronauts clean their razors, in zero gravity, without blobs of water and lather floating all around the ship?:hmmm:

They all give close comfortable shaves but feel slightly different. You almost have to try them all to see as it is hard to describe.

Thanks for the grind info. That's exactly what I was looking for! Very informative! I checked your link about shaving in space, but I am still puzzled. When they swish their straight razors in the sink, how do they not splash water and lather and have it floating all over the place? Wouldn't zero gravity also make it difficult to keep their strops hanging straight and flat? Hmm, I suppose that they would also be forced to use much lighter shave strokes than normal, due to zero gravity, unless inverted and having their hands affected by the Earth's gravitational pull! :hmmm: (just kidding about the space shave thing)

IME the double hollow grind, I have just one, feels more delicate and keeps me aware of the need to use light pressure for a clean safe shave. The hollow grind a little less so. These two give plenty of audio feedback. I also have a Korn patent grind bellied hollow which feels similar to the double hollow but gives less feedback. The half and quarter hollows and near wedge grinds have progressivly more mass that makes them cut a little easier but need to pay more attention to keeping the pressure light with heavier blades. Also less audio feedback. As mentioned above they all shave great. They all hone the same except the smiling blades require a different stroke to get the entire edge sharp. Can't help with the space shaving.
