Good luck!! I predict, like most of us, your d/e razor will soon be a thing of the past.
Take your time and enjoy yourself.

Unfortunately that one got away. Still looking.
As a relative newbie myself who started with a new Ralf Aust from SRD, then bought a sight unseen Whipped Dog (which turned out to be a nice ERN Crown & Sword) for a travel razor, I can tell you that a shave-ready razor honed by someone reputable (like Lynn at SRD or Larry at Whipped Dog) is a must. You don't want to start out trying to shave with a poorly honed piece of steel.
If you can spend around $100 on a razor, an Aust 5/8 round point is a great shaver. If you're on a tight budget, drop Larry a line -- I'm sure he'd work with you to find a good a razor for your needs -- even if it is unseen.
BTW, welcome to SRP!
