Shave ready out of the box? But was I?

I ordered a shave ready razor from Tony Miller as I wanted a bench mark before I botched it with rooky honing and stropping.

Well sure if I wasn’t so deep in the zone that I didn’t bother to really examine the razor.

As I drew the blade down my heavily creamed face I experienced a rush of adrenalin and copper tasting fear as it seemed for the briefest of millisecond that I might have tore a flap of my skin off!

…Relax all was good and I steadied up.

It was in fact just the plastic Dovo Solingen peel off logo coming off the blade.

The devil truly is in the details.

What a newb!

Yep, that would definitely have been a freak-out moment! Glad all is well, and I for one will most certainly remember to take off the peel if I get a new razor!

I'm planning on getting a shave ready as well to test my skills against. I don't think I'd be looking for a sticker ether...

Word.

The sticker was clear plastic and I just didn't notice it, my bad, but I was so dialed in to the process. It might have made a great vid with my eyes big as dish plates, pupils dilated black as a moonless night.

It did cause a moments doubt as to whether it was indeed honed and why they would bother to put the stickers back on but his attention to the devil in details is legendary and it was not likely one that got away.

That would be scary! I noticed the "Edge is sharp and might cause damages" vinyl sticker when i got it. I stuck it on my mirror as a reminder. :roflmao

Glad you're ok, but that's a funny story.
